1. pug sitting makes me lazy

    pugs are lazy.

    there i said it.

they are ridiculous to look at (in the best way possible).  but they are lazy.

    pearl and spot

pearl is the cute black pug i was hanging out with for the first three days of this week. mostly i was afraid spot, twice her size, would win the epic battle of territory while i was at work. and because i was at work all day, i couldn’t bare to leave pearl alone in the apartment while i was out running or at the gym.  so, i just didn’t go to the gym or for runs. for three days.

three days isn’t the end of the world by any means, but at home, where i was saturday and sunday, i didn’t have time to get much in either. so that’s basically five days. that’s enough to make my legs itchy.

this morning d came up to my hood and brought kado and we did a 3 mile loop.  felt good. but i was tired and dehydrated. i wish i wasn’t. but it usually only takes one not AWESOME run to get me looking forward to the next one. and lets face it, it was still a good run. all runs are good runs when looking back on them. and it accomplished the goal: stretch my legs out before tomorrow’s epic ride.

it was also a nice change of pace to be back running with a buddy and chatting rather than so focused on breathing, form or music.  to just go. also, d and kado are much faster than me.  we didn’t necessarily go super fast, but i would have been more lazy without them, so that was nice too. i think its good to do anything with someone who is better than you, at least some of the time. i hope to get to run with them some more.

AND, i have kado for a few days, which means at least 2 more adventures in my sneakers with the pooch.
