1. off …and then back on

    last night was just off. i packed up for the gym, post shower and dinner at the squeezes house and the spin clothes for the AM and hopped on my bike.  

    i realized when i got there that i forgot my ipod.

    bummer.

    i knew i wouldn’t last on the ET for an hour without it so i went for 30 min. i probably could have gone an hour, but i convinced myself 30 min was fine if i really focused on stretching and conditioning. then i went to stretch and do some conditioning, but the mats were full so i decided weights would be good. but i just didn’t want to wait around for machines and the free weights corner was packed. so i did a few sets of lat pull downs and called it a night. it was a pretty lackluster workout. not bad, but sort of demotivating.  plus, the spin class i wanted to sign up for in the morning was full, so i was anticipating another musicless workout a few hours later.  when i got to the locker room, the towels were gone. real annoying. only happened twice to me since i joined, but when it happens to me, its a pain in the ass because i only shower at the gym when i really need to.

    thankfully today was a complete 180 from last night. i woke up easily, made it into the desired spin class, had a great workout and a great start to my day.

    man i missed spin! i’m LOVING being back!

    getting back to my morning workouts is so good for my soul. it honestly makes my day to start with a sweat. and makes my oatmeal taste five thousand times better. plus, it frees up my whole evening. i love evening workouts too, but i’m delighted to have taken a break from mornings and be back, refreshed.
