today was one of those days where i just needed to get out there and run. its not that i didn’t want to so much, but i just wasn’t SUPER motivated to get out there. i had a conference call at 6:30, which meant i couldn’t start til about 7:30. just a cramped long night. but tomorrow is birthday dinner night. thursday is trainer ben ass whoooooopin time. friday is a date with jame-o for the birthday par-tay, then its the weekend! so, if i wanted to run at all this week, today was the day. the race is 10 days away and i would regret it if i didn’t.
so i did. i did a 6 mile there and back loop. it was a mile of feeling good a mile of telling myself it felt good, a mile of good, etc…
then i was home. and it was done.
and you know what?
i didn’t regret it.
i NEVER regret a workout. without fail, it’s a mantra that works.
something that i have struggled with the last few runs have been stitches in my sides. it’s something that plagued me for a long time, but i thought i’d figured it all out. hydration seemed to be the issue. so, i’m either slightly deprived of good ole h2o, or hydration is not the key. for now i’m really focusing on drinking more water.
