1. on the mend

    UPDATE: the swelling is back. clearly i’m discouraged.

    i took (am taking) almost a week off. at first i was still doing strength training and jillian, but with the exception of abs, i really have found that keeping completely off my foot has been the right thing to do. i did take a quick break with roosk for a 6 miler turned 4 miler on thursday night. while i had a terrific time catching up and running in a new place, i knew about 30 min in that i was doing more harm than good. that’s when all activity ceased.

    i spent the weekend in a cabin in west virginia, and the majority of saturday in a hot tub. there are many things wrong with that, to be sure, BUT, i did wake up with 95% of the swelling completely gone, barely tender to the touch and the ability to almost fully extend my ankle without pain. i’m not sure if i should thank the jameson or the hot tub, but i almost cried when i realized i was on the mend.

    i can. not. wait to resume training this week. starting light tomorrow, but just being back on track will help me mentally.
